The gold-coloured reinforcing iron work of art consists of long curved strings. At first glance this too seems chaotic, but on closer inspection they all grew in much the same way. Normally we only see reinforcing steel on construction sites, but here it has grown like a plant towards the light and is vulnerable and exposed in the church garden. Its location is visible in the village, and so as not to be mistaken for demolition waste, it has disguised itself as a valuable, gleaming gold structure. It likes to be touched. Feel and the structure will vibrate gently, just like a purring cat. It responds to our actions.”
You may not see a transition as clearly when you are in the middle of it, but you can feel it.
Metriaal: goudgeverfd betonijzer, schudmachine in 3d geprinte omhulsel.
Het goudkleurige betonijzeren kunstwerk bestaat uit lange gebogen slierten. Op het eerste gezicht lijkt ook dit een chaos, maar bij nadere inspectie zijn ze allemaal ongeveer op dezelfde manier gegroeid. Normaal gesproken zien we betonijzer alleen op bouwplaatsen, maar hier is het gegroeid als een plant naar het licht en ligt het kwetsbaar en bloot in de kerktuin. De locatie is zichtbaar in het dorp, en om niet te worden verward met sloopafval, heeft het zich vermomd als een waardevolle, glanzende gouden structuur. Het wil graag aangeraakt worden. Voel en de structuur zal zachtjes vibreren, net als een snorrende poes. Het reageert op onze acties. Misschien zie je een transitie niet zo duidelijk als je er midden in zit maar kan je hem wel voelen.
